I have to admit one of the reasons I always hesitate to attend contest screenings is to avoid this syndrome of “sizing up the other.” It’s inevitable in any competition but both years I’ve attended the 48HFP that feeling dissipated once the films start to show. I felt not only the crowd enjoying their particular contribution to the night but the works of others as well.

Given the parameters of the 48 Hour Film Project, I chose a different approach. One I felt would make me feel happy, successful, and not become too much of a b*tch on set during the run. Simply – “Have fun. Get it done.”

The last couple of weeks haven’t met my expectations, however, these are the seeds that need the nurturance required for a full harvest. So on that note I continue to tend the garden and move this project forward.

It is true. Those who know me know I have a great love for narrative fiction. However, my thirst for knowledge is as strong as my desire to imagine. Working on docs has proved to be one of the best ways in which I can learn about the world.
