Yvie Raij earned her BFA in Interdisciplinary Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MFA in Media Arts Production from the City College of New York. While in NYC, she worked as a cinematographer, editor, and producer on a variety of independent narratives, documentaries, animation, music videos, and art experimentals. She often likes to shoot on location in places regional, national, & international (it seems to suit her itinerant tendencies).
When given the opportunity, Raij teaches as a visiting artist and youth mentor at universities and youth organizations; organizing and facilitating various curricula and activities. She also organizes events, art exhibitions, installation projects, performances, and other arty sorts of things.
Yvie Raij is currently meddling about the Bay Area making new filmmaker friends, creating new art initiatives, and working as the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions at California College of the Arts.
